Call for Interdisciplinary Poster Session

Back to the conference main page

The BCSP invites conference attendees to submit poster abstracts for our interdisciplinary poster session – which celebrates the diversity of scholarship, expression, and collaboration at the intersection of psychedelics and consciousness.

This poster session will be a forum to share and learn about work across disciplines. We hope the poster session will spark new connections, ideas, and research.

Submission guidelines

  • Selected applicants will be able to display a 48 inch by 36 inch horizontal poster at the conference, which includes at least one dedicated poster session.
  • The abstract submission link will be provided while registering for the conference.
  • You must submit your poster abstract by August 1, 2026 to be considered.
    • Please note that this is earlier than the conference registration deadline, and that only conference attendees will be eligible to participate in the poster session.

Selection criteria:

All participants are welcome to apply. Practitioners, researchers across disciplines, artists, and organizations are all encouraged to apply. Applicants should provide a 250-500 word poster abstract. Posters will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to consciousness studies and/or psychedelic studies
  • Openness to interdisciplinary connections
  • Originality of work
  • Connection to our conference themes is not required, but a plus

Examples of eligible posters abstracts (non-exhaustive):

  • Artwork
  • Research in any academic discipline
  • Community-based research
  • Poetry or other creative forms of written expression

Poster selection committee:

  • Jen Holmberg
  • Tyler Toueg
  • Kuranda Morgan
  • Maya Acharya

Printing guidelines:

We recognize that some disciplines and knowledge systems may be more used to poster-making than others. Here are some basic poster guidelines.

  • Designing a poster:
    • The basics for traditional academic poster creation (we do not require you use this format, however).
    • Make sure the dimensions of your design match the print dimensions (48 inches by 36 inches), to avoid pixelation.
      • Free tools like Canva can support this process.
  • Local print shops:
  • Participants will be responsible for printing the posters, mounting them, and demounting them.
