Clinical Trials Map

The results of clinical trials suggest that psychedelics could be used for a range of therapeutic purposes, but figuring out how to participate in psychedelic-assisted therapy as either a therapist or a patient can be complicated. BCSP’s clinical trials map, featuring data from ClinicalTrials.gov, provides a way to navigate past, ongoing and future trials.

How to use the clinical trials map

Clinical trials have provided growing evidence that ketamine, psilocybin, and MDMA can work in combination with therapy to help alleviate a range of mental disorders, including PTSD, depression, substance-use disorders, and anxiety. The field is advancing rapidly, but it can be difficult to navigate changing information to learn more about specific trials.

In the map view, explore clinical trials based on location. Click on a pink cluster or use the + button to zoom in on a particular location. Click on a smaller pink dot to access an overview of a particular clinical trial, including the substance, the phase, and relevant conditions. Click on the “Full Trial Record” link to learn more about the trial on the ClinicalTrials.gov site.

In the list view, the clinical trials tracker offers a tool for researchers and clinicians to quantify and explore trials based on a number of factors. Click on “Filter” to see relevant trials based on substance, trial status, study phase and more. Where the list shows closed trials users are able explore published results, including searching by institution.
